What are Spreads?
The spread is the difference between the buy (ask) and sell (bid) price you trade at. Spreads are a natural feature of markets, as buyers and sellers are often willing to transact at different prices. That means spreads are a cost in most trades you place, but vary depending on liquidity and account type. Therefore, having lower spreads means lower costs for your trading. We have some of the lowest spreads in the market thanks to our deep liquidity and strong counter-party relationships. Some accounts use an included spread rather than commission to charge fees, which can be simpler. Our zero average spreads on major forex pairs make us efficient for active and high volume traders, where spreads can have a high impact on overall profitability.
Our Spreads
TabTrade maintains highly competitive average spreads, with a focus on major FX and metals. Spreads are typically at or around zero all day for a major symbol such as EURUSD, except for temporary widening around major news events and rollover.

What is Commission?
We charge Commission as our fee on our lowest spread accounts. We make these commission-based accounts our lowest spread offerings. This makes them more suitable for scalpers and higher frequency traders who need to enter and exit precisely. Tighter pricing mean you can trade with more accuracy.
We charge commission per-lot, or based on notional volume traded, depending on the platform you are using. For our MetaTrader 5 Edge Accounts on FX and Metals, we charge a commission of $3.5 USD per lot on each side of the trade ($7 USD round-turn). This cost is roughly the same, no matter which currency your account is denominated in.
Account Types
The main difference between our account types is the way we charge our fees. In short, our transaction fee structure for each account type can be explained as follows:
- Standard Account: no commissions, spread-only
- Edge Account: zero average spreads on major forex pairs and a small fixed commission
- VIP Account: zero average spreads on major forex pairs, negotiable commissions and custom pricing for maximum efficiency
- Swap-free Account: no commissions, spread-only
